3D Space
Building Information Modeling (BIM) in 3D produces a virtual design model integrating all the major disciplines and systems. This allows for full visualization, clash-detection and appropriately sizing space allocations for all the trades including architectural and structural. The virtual model serves as a mock-up of the fully coordinated and integrated systems design. Through this virtual model, the aim is to anticipate and discover any potential problems, and thus rectify conflicts in the design phase, saving time, cost overruns and the wasting of materials and other resources. The 3D intelligent data generates material take-offs allowing for the analysis and comparison of alternative solutions in the design phase, and provides a tremendous assist in scheduling and coordinating all trades during construction.
TJEG's recent and on-going projects using 3D BIM include:
- Mills Peninsula Hospital, Burlingame CA
- Kaiser Oakland Medical Center, Oakland CA
- California Pacific Medical Center at Cathedral Hill, San Francisco CA
- CCAD Central Utility Plant, Dubai
